Gotee Records artist RENEE, comprised of real-life sisters Rachael and Riley Peyton, are a dynamic sister-duo with harmonious voices and a shared passion for spreading faith through music.
RENEE has been captivating audiences for years, traveling around the country sharing their music and hearts with any audience that would have them. Poised to make a significant impact with their debut radio single, Nothing But Jesus, the girls have a bright future ahead of them.
The name “Renee”, which means “born again”, holds special meaning for the girls as it is their shared middle name, tying them together in every season, and is a sentiment that shines brightly in their lyrics and the message they share on stage.
Raised in a musical household, Rachael and Riley spent their early childhoods immersed in Christian music. It was during these formative years that their love for music was ignited, laying the foundation for the pair’s big dreams for a career in music and a ministry-minded approach to impacting the lives of the next generation of girls just like them. As they matured, so did their musical tastes, which led them to explore new sounds and styles. Their journey ultimately led them to a collaborative season with famed producer Tedd T. (for King and Country, Rebecca St. James, Newsboys), where they wrote, and released, several independent songs. Through this period of independent releases, RENEE continued to establish their fanbase and found themselves opening for Christian artists performing in their area. One such artist was now fellow labelmate, Ryan Stevenson.
After signing with Gotee, RENEE got to work writing songs, including their debut single, “Nothing But Jesus,” with hitmakers Matthew West and AJ Pruis. The song was inspired by their love for Christian music, and is a hook-heavy, harmony-rich toe-tapper with a message straight from Rachael and Riley’s hearts. “We wanted to talk about how nothing but Jesus can heal our land and set us free as believers and as a church,” says Rachael. “Our hope is that when people hear this song, it will be something that can speak over them, help them navigate through the hard and real things they’re going through.”
When talking about hope for the future, Renee is looking forward to releasing more music and doing exactly what they’ve done since they were little girls with big dreams. “We love doing this together as sisters,” Riley says. “I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else. We could go out and sing for fun, but ministry is what we’re called to do. Our hope as artists is that people will feel God and the presence of God through our music.”
